Each patient is evaluated and treated by a highly skilled and experienced licensed physical therapist. No PT aides or assistants are utilized. All evaluations and treatments are 60 minutes. The goal is to progress to prevention and patient education for long-term wellness.
What does a physical therapist do? A physical therapist treats the resulting consequence of an injury or disease process which may include weakness, decreased balance, pain and limited range of motion. During an evaluation your joint range of motion, muscle strength, nerve tension, reflexes, sensation, balance and endurance may be assessed. Based on these findings a personalized treatment program will be designed specifically for you.

Pilates exercise can be an excellent way to continue on the road to wellness after the completion of physical therapy. In addition, pilates is an ideal exercise program for many patients including those with a history of osteoporosis, scoliosis, post knee/hip surgery, multiple sclerosis and stroke.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Southern California in 1999 with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy where she studied under the direction of master clinicians and professors. USC is ranked as the #1 physical therapy program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. She is both a physical therapist and pilates instructor. Elizabeth became a Certified Pilates Instructor through the PhysicalMind Institute on the mat, reformer, trapeze table, wunda chair and barrel in 2003. In addition, she furthered her continuing education with a Pilates Pregnancy and Post-Natal course in 2004. She specializes in the treatment of chronic neck & back pain, pelvic floor/core conditioning, pre & post surgical conditions, injuries of the ankle, knee, pelvis, spine, shoulder and pilates-based rehabilitation after injury. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including acute, neurological, temporomandibular joint pain and orthopedic medicine practices. She has been teaching clients, who are at beginning as well as advanced fitness levels, how to improve their endurance, eliminate pain, increase muscle tone and maintain their flexibility through various treatments and exercises. Elizabeth also treats patients on the acute medical floors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, health and wellness education, pilates and yoga. |
