Expect a full body workout with heavy focus on the glutes, hamstrings, core and obliques. The Megaformer has two platforms with a sliding carriage in-between that allows us to use resistance in order to increase strength. Oh yeah, and expect sweat – lots of it.
In a typical HIIT or circuit training class it can be difficult to isolate certain muscles. While those types of classes can be great for cardiovascular health, they’re not so great for fat burning and muscle building. We don’t want to toot our own horn (or maybe we do), but this is the total opposite of a Megaformer class at Studio Physique. The Megaformer gets so deep into your glutes, hamstrings, inner thighs, quads and core that you can expect to see results within a few weeks. We increase your heart rate AND target all the hard to reach muscles that can be difficult to activate with other forms of exercise. Studio Physique also offers specialty classes such as “Ass + Abs” , “Arms + Abs”, “Mega Muscle” and “Washboard Wednesday” if you want to give a certain part of your body some extra lovin’.
Sebastian Lagree, founder of the Lagree Fitness method and the Megaformer was interviewed for usatoday.com
Here’s what he had to say:
The Megaformer has a number of different handlebar variations and cables, so you’re able to perform a wide variety of different exercises as well as variations and modifications to fit your fitness level or history of injury. “Exercisers are planking, squatting, crunching, lunging and more on the platform, utilizing all 600 muscles of the body to maintain balance and fight resistance,” says Lagree.
