Now is the time to hit up your local farmer’s market and stock up on all the fall goodies. Foods like pumpkin, parsnips, squash, sweet potato, apples and pears are in season now. One rule we like to live by at Studio Physique is; The more colorful the food, the higher the nutrient content.
As the weather gets colder we tend to shy away from physical activity. This Fall, set yourself up for a healthy Winter by setting up and sticking with a fitness routine. Lagree Fitness is the perfect way to get your body moving this Autumn. Throw on a pair of your coziest leggings, grip socks and even a comfy sweatshirt and you’re ready to ease into a workout.
Avoid getting sick this Winter by boosting your immune system now. Our favorite defenses include taking a pre and pro-biotic, eating plenty of raw fruits, veggies and garlic, taking a multivitamin and using elderberry at the first sign of a cold (Always ask your doctor before taking a supplement!).
Make sure your body is getting enough sleep to ensure adequate time for muscle recovery and to protect your immune system. The clocks will be changing soon and it’s a good idea to realign your sleep schedule with the changing time. Some people may only need 6 hours of sleep while some need 10+. Experiment with what feels best and sneak in a nap or two if you can.
It can be a busy time and for some reason fall always seems a bit shorter than all of the other seasons. Studio Physique offers classes 7 days a week. By taking only one class per day you are promising yourself one vital hour to get out of your head and into your body. On rest days, set aside time to just sit with your body and breathe. Spend time in nature, with a cup of tea, or in meditation. Autumn is the perfect time to slow down and reconnect with yourself.
